Outline planning permission for a new settlement of up to 2,068 dwellings at the former Wisley airfield in Ockham was refused by GBC Planning Committee on 6 April 2016. The developer, Wisley Property Investments Ltd, has appealed to the Planning Inspectorate against this GBC decision and their appeal is due to be heard at a public inquiry to be held at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford, starting 19 September 2017.
Further details about the planning application, the development proposals and the background to this appeal can be found at the links shown under ‘Further Information’ below.
East and West Horsley Parish Councils (HPC) have joined together to oppose this appeal and will be presenting evidence to the public inquiry.

To help better understand the views of Horsley residents towards this proposed new settlement, the parish councils conducted a questionnaire survey. This was available to all residents of East Horsley or West Horsley who were over 18 years old.
The survey is now closed and the responses are being analysed by Surrey Community Action, an independent non-profit making organisation. The results will form part of the evidence submitted by the parish councils to the planning appeal.
