Ada Lovelace & the £50 note

Written by

The Bank of England has released the names of over 800 scientists who have been nominated to appear on the new £50 banknote and Ada Lovelace, our local computer pioneer credited with publishing the world’s first computer programme, is one of them. Closing date for public nominations is 14 December and they will then be considered by the Bank's banknote character advisory committee with a final decision in 2019.
