Data Sharing Top Tips

Written by

Sharing data can offer benefits, but what you share and who you share it with is up to you. Top tips from Lloyds Bank to stay safe:

Check who you’re speaking to. If a company contacts you out of the blue asking for personal information, contact the company directly yourself using a known email or phone number.

Be aware of Open Banking (using apps and websites to view all your finance in one place) – if you’re interested in sharing data using this system, check the company appears on the Open Banking Directory first. www.openbanking.org.uk/regulated-providers/

Choose a password that’s secure and change it if you’re worried that someone may have access to it. lloydsbank.com/help-guidance/security

Check your statements regularly and report any suspicious activity.

Don't forget fraudsters might pose as trusted companies – know how to spot them. lloydsbank.com/help-guidance/security/suspicious-phone-calls
