Friends of Horsley Station regret to report that Richard Bunce, the popular station master at Horsley Station, has resigned for personal reasons. In the years that Richard has occupied this position, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the station looks clean and tidy and that the booking office and waiting rooms are welcoming with appropriate pictures, a book and jigsaw puzzle exchange and a planting scheme at the entrance.
His efforts (and those of Friends of Horsley Station) were rewarded when Horsley Station was twice nominated as small South Western Railways Station of the Year. Richard has been a valued member of the local community and has always been cheerful and happy to help with ticketing inquiries. We wish him (and his dog George) well for the future and thank him for his contribution to Horsley life over the past few years.
