Boundary changes - have your say!

Written by

The public consultation to alter the existing boundary between the parishes of East Horsley and Effingham and also to increase the number of councillors starts Monday 2 September and ends 5pm Friday 18 October.

This review proposes revision of the parish boundary close to Effingham Common, where five residential roads (Heath View, Heathway, Berrington Drive, Orchard Close and Forest Lane) are split across the parishes of East Horsley and Effingham. The review will also consider an increase in the number of elected members to EHPC from nine to twelve. GBC is writing directly to those residents living within the area of the proposed boundary move.

As part of this review full copies of all representations will be made available for public inspection.

The formal request from East Horsley Parish Council to start a Community Governance Review, was agreed in August by Guildford Borough Council.

GBC will consider the formal report at its council meeting on 3 December.

If approved, GBC will make an Order to change the boundary and increase the number of elected members.  Consequently, GBC would then apply to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England to request the ward boundary is also changed to be coterminous with the new parish boundary. Please do respond to the consultation on either or both the boundary change or increase in Parish Councillors.
