Budgens Store in Station Parade has been sold to the giant supermarket chain, Sainsbury's. The owner, Suresh Sharma, says market factors are to blame, in particular the investment required to refit the store, the current economic climate, problems in obtaining stock and the threat of competition.  Suresh says he expects the sale to be completed by the end of March and that the new owners will retain the current staff.  Over the coming weeks, Sainsbury's will provide more information concerning the change of ownership which will involve a major refit.  Suresh concludes by thanking customers for their support over the years and says that, following the sale, the store and its staff are in a good place.
