Network Rail informs us that they will be replacing half a mile of track between Horsley Station and Ripley Lane with preliminary work commencing on Sunday July 31st.
The main work to replace the tracks will take place from 01.00 on Saturday 13th August to 04.00 on Monday 15thAugust and again from 01.00 on Saturday 20th August to 04.00 on Monday 22nd August. However, throughout the month of August there will be over-night working most days plus another few days at the end of September to complete the project.
During this whole period there will be reduced parking at Horsley Station as space will be needed for equipment. Also, there will be traffic lights installed where the railway crosses The Street in West Horsley. However, the main inconvenience will be the noise generated most nights throughout August by the equipment needed to replace the rails and ballast.
Rail services will obviously be affected during this period so please check before departing for the station as replacement buses will be used when the line is out of action.
Naturally Network Rail apologises for the inconvenience caused while this much needed work is carried out.
