Good News For Rail Travellers

Work has started at Leatherhead Station on the installation of lifts and a new footbridge to provide step-free access to both platforms.

At present, Horsley residents with limited mobility have to travel down to Guildford for similar step-free facilities when making trips to and from the London direction.

From Spring next year they can look forward to cheaper and quicker journeys by embarking and alighting at Leatherhead; as can those travelling with buggies, pushchairs and weighty luggage.

Meanwhile, the East Horsley Parish Council Railway Task Group will continue its lobbying  for the same facilities to be installed at Horsley station.
