ALLOW EXTRA TIME

Rail and road travel in the Horsley locality will be impacted considerably this weekend.

Track engineering work means that journeys on the Guildford to Waterloo lines as well those from Woking up to town will entail use of bus replacement services resulting in extended travel times.

The A3 will be closed from Friday evening until early Monday morning to enable the installation of another new bridge. This one, the heathland Cockcrow Bridge (see below), will provide a link between Ockham and Wisley commons for the first time since the A3 was upgraded in the 70s. It is 30 metres wide and will benefit not only walkers but will provide a new corridor for wildlife. Signposted diversions will lead to much heavier traffic through the Horsleys and neighbouring villages.

The £317m A3/M25 junction 10 gyratory is due for completion this summer.
