Traffic Surveys in East Horsley: Phase 1 Starting Soon!

From the week commencing 3 February, you’ll notice new traffic surveys being installed across key locations in East Horsley. These surveys are part of a two-phase plan to gather detailed data on traffic speeds and volumes throughout the village. This vital information will help us identify priority areas for safety improvements and reduce concerns about speeding.

What to Expect:

  • Phase 1: Automatic Traffic Counters (ATCs) will be placed in 10 key locations, focusing on Ockham Road North and the A246.
  • Future Surveys: Additional ATCs, including on Forest Road, will be installed in Phase 2 once we’ve analysed data from the first phase and surveys planned by Surrey County Council (SCC).

SCC has already committed to installing 7 surveys at select locations, and our efforts are designed to complement theirs for maximum impact. By combining data, we’ll ensure a comprehensive understanding of traffic conditions across the village.

Why This Matters:

This project supports efforts to improve road safety, reduce speeds, and encourage walking and cycling. It’s a step towards creating a safer, more pedestrian-friendly East Horsley.

We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us via our website.
